New Reviews of Further Definitions of the Days of Awe

New reviews are still coming in for our most recent CD, Further Definitions of the Days of Awe. Here are some links to a few of them:

In it's December issue, JazzTimes called the recording, "a joyous, soulful aggregate" of "highly spiritual music."

If you read French you might want to check out the review published in France's premiere jazz magazine, Le Jazz Hot. The review calls the CD, "indispensable "! It also goes on to say, "c'est une musique totalement originale, où se mêlent la ferveur et le recueillement, l’humour et l’émotion. Une forme d’exaltation spirituelle qui est une dimension essentielle du jazz." (ie, 'a radically original sound, fraught with fervour and meditation, humour and emotion. Such spiritual enthusiasm is an essential dimension of jazz')."

Finally, The Jewish Daily Forward listed Further Definitions of the Days of Awe as one of their top five CDs of 2011, stating that “the music descends towards the cantorial melancholy as if revealing jazz’s own dark underside — the blues — and with that the collaboration moves towards even more complex and haunting places.”
